Unlocking the True Potential of Nebula in Remnant 2

As a hardcore Remnant 2 player, I was thrilled when I first acquired the Nebula handgun. Its high rate of fire and unique acid damage passive made it seem incredibly powerful. However, it took experimenting with different builds and strategies before I truly unlocked Nebula‘s full potential. In this comprehensive guide, I‘ll share everything I‘ve learned about maximizing Nebula‘s capabilities.

Nebula‘s Base Stats and Passive Ability

Let‘s start by reviewing Nebula‘s baseline attributes:

  • Damage Per Shot: 12
  • Magazine Size: 55 rounds
  • Rate of Fire: 8 shots per second
  • Effective Range: 8 meters
  • Maximum Ammo Capacity: 220 rounds

At first glance, the damage seems underwhelming. However, combined with its blazing rate of fire, Nebula can dump out 96 damage per second. That‘s without factoring in critical hits or weak point bonuses.

What really makes Nebula shine is its unique passive ability. Each shot deals 300 corrosive damage over 15 seconds, melting away enemy health. Kill a corrupted target and a gas cloud emerges, transferring the effect to nearby foes. This allows Nebula to swiftly decimate hordes once the first enemy falls.

Augmenting Nebula‘s Capabilities

While potent by itself, the key to maximizing Nebula is augmenting it with artifacts, mods, and complementary weapons. Let‘s examine some effective combinations:

The Best Nebula Mutators

I prefer equipping Nebula with the Bandit mutator, which has a 10% chance to return spent ammo to the magazine on each hit. Combined with Nebula‘s high rate of fire, this significantly reduces downtime spent reloading.

Other worthwhile mutators include Bulletweaver for increasing fire rate and Lithely for improving reload speed. Refunder is an enhanced version of Bandit that sends 20% of shots back to reserves instead of the magazine.

Complementary Weapons

Due to its short range, Nebula works best paired with a long range weapon like the Hunting Pistol or Repeater Pistol. Shotguns like the Automatic Shotgun also sync nicely to decimate enemies once Nebula‘s acid rounds wear them down.

For melee, both the Smolder and Pickaxe work well depending on whether you prefer slash or blunt force damage.

Armor, Amulets, and Rings

When using Nebula, I prefer medium armor sets that provide mobility like the Akari or Lab set. Prioritize acid and corrosion damage boosting amulets like Circlet of Black Acid and Rift Walker. The Corrosive Aura trait is also hugely beneficial.

Finally, rings like Heartseeker and Root Circlet enhance Nebula‘s critical hit chance and weak point damage respectively. And with the high rate of fire, those extra bonuses add up quickly!

Mastering Nebula Gameplay

Getting the most out of Nebula requires adapting your playstyle to its unique strengths:

Don‘t Neglect Nano Swarm

It‘s easy to forget about Nebula‘s built-in Nano Swarm mod which launches tiny robots that seek out and attack enemies. Use this liberally on bigger foes and boss fights to significantly accelerate damage. Save some mod power for when you really need it rather than squandering swarms on weak mobs.

Manipulate Gas Cloud Spawns

That acid gas cloud passive is extremely powerful against groups, so manipulate its spawn points deliberately. Funnel enemies together, score the first kill shot, then watch the chain reaction devastate the pack. Pay attention to the wind direction and use it to direct the cloud.

Complement Your Allies

When playing co-op, communication is key to maximize group damage with Nebula. Have teammates freeze, stun or otherwise incapacitate mobs so you can trigger gas cloud spawns for huge area damage. Nebula also pairs incredibly well with summon builds.

Use Environmentals

Corrosive shots ignore armor, so draw tough enemies into environmental hazards to rapidly melt health. Lure them onto fire patches, toxic sludge, thorn bushes or whatever your environment provides. Coupled with Nebula‘s core damage, enemies will melt away rapidly.

High Risk, High Reward

Mastering any weapon comes through blood, sweat, and determination. Nebula is no exception. Its short range requires getting up close and personal with mobs and elites. You‘ll need to equip armor, amulets, and rings to mitigate damage especially at higher difficulties.

But that risk comes with an insane reward. A perfectly modded Nebula build can clear rooms and chew through bosses faster than anything else in Remnant 2. The sheer thrill of unloading round after sizzling round into hordes of enemies, watching health bars disintegrate before my eyes never gets old. That pain was simply the price of admission to Nebula paradise.

So if you recently acquired Remnant 2‘s infamous acid handgun, I hope this guide provided some insights into modding, synergizing and playing with Nebula. Let me know in the comments if you have any other questions! See you in the depths of the dungeons.
