Uncovering the Hidden Achievements in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

As an avid Star Wars fan and dedicated gamer who lives for compelling challenges, I was eagerly anticipating the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This hotly expected addition to the franchise promises to take our heroic Jedi protagonist Cal Kestis on a darker, more dangerous adventure as he continues his fight against the Empire‘s Jedi-hunting Inquisitors.

After plunging tens of hours into exploring the planets, developing my combat skills, and uncovering secrets, one thing has become certain – this game boasts an impressive breadth of achievements to pursue. For dedicated completionist gamers like myself, it‘s a thrilling prospect. Conquering all 53 achievements will require meticulousness, patience, skill, and a wholesome dose of Star Wars dedication.

The Full Spread of Achievements

Across various planets like the scrappy settlements on Koboh and the icy slopes of Jedha, this game hides challenges that unlock achievements both big and small. The full list spans:

  • 25 Story-Based Achievements
  • 10 Task Completion Achievements
  • 5 Cosmetic Achievements
  • 13 Combat Encounter Achievements

It‘s a diverse spread that offers varied gameplay, though the majority tie back to making key story progress. For committed players, it will take upwards of 40-60 hours to conquer them all and claim 100% completion.

Personally, I‘m relieving to see robust variety in the achievement types compared to previous Lego Star Wars games. Don‘t get me wrong – I adore those titles too – but the more complex action-adventure style of Jedi: Survivor allows the developers to deliver genuinely creative and challenging trophies.

Story-Driven Achievements

Given Cal‘s urgent, high-stakes quest as one of the last surviving Jedi in the aftermath of Order 66, much of the game remains focused on narrative progress. So it follows suit that a significant portion of achievements come from milestone moments within the overarching story across the 25+ hour campaign.

These range from early accomplishments like using BD-1 to perform a reconnaissance scan on Koboh to major late-game achievements like finishing the climatic final mission. Some of my favorites among the story-based trophies so far include:

  • Now, This Isn‘t Podracing: Riding a mount for 500 meters on Koboh hearkens back to Anakin‘s talents from The Phantom Menace while encouraging exploration of the scrappy settlements and vibrant natural environments.
  • Cleaning Up: Taking a humorous turn away from the heavier main missions, this achievement requires you to tidy up a filthy refresher in the Pyloon Saloon. I admire little touches of levity like this that round out the experience.
  • The Past Made Present: Discovering a wounded Jedi, their body suspended in a bacta tank, makes for an impactful story moment. Healing them subsequently unlocks an achievement too.

With nine planets promised across the entire game, I still have much adventuring left to push forward the core missions. But seeing the story achievements rack up so far gives a satisfying sense of driving the release‘s ambitious narrative arc forward.

Task Completion Achievements

Aside from directly pushing the critical path along, Jedi: Survivor also offers many side activities. These optional objectives help flesh out the wider experience while rewarding dedication. Among the 10 achievements for completing specific tasks are creatively varied goals like:

  • Max Capacity: Recruiting 11 helpers across various planets to return to your home cantina base.
  • Skoova Diving: Filling your in-base aquarium with exotic fish collected from across the galaxy.
  • Intergalactic Geographic: Completely scanning every type of enemy into your Tactical Guide for reference.

I especially appreciate the more light-hearted nature of objectives like housing quirky alien fish or building up your cantina‘s patron network. They offer gameplay opportunities beyond just fighting conflict after conflict. The breaks between high-intensity battles create welcome contrast while expanding the game‘s scope.

Approximately 18 hours into my playthrough so far, I‘ve already unlocked four of these task completion achievements by:

  • Collecting eight unique Cantina patron allies
  • Equipping my first three perks
  • Discovering six hidden caches of valuable crafting resources
  • Succeeding in four games of Holotactic (a Dejarik-style holographic board game)

I still have much work left scanning enemy types and further upgrading abilities. But I enjoy seeingincremental progress revealing itself through these completionist achievements.

Cosmetic Achievements

While perhaps not as prestigious as the story or combat trophies, the five cosmetic achievements add some fun flair. These highlight customizing Cal‘s outfit across three slots, tweaking his lightsaber, and modifying his loyal droid buddy BD-1.

My inner Star Wars nerd thrills at deeper cosmetic options compared to previous games. The achievement titles also amuse me like "Hey, Luke at Us" with clever nods to the wider franchise. I‘m currently still sporting Cal‘s default scrapper look on Koboh, so customizing awaits. But I fully intend to kit Cal and BD-1 out with bold new looks befitting a Jedi survivor on the run.

Combat Encounter Achievements

Finally, we come to the 13 combat-focused achievements for displaying prowess dispatching enemies under special conditions. I appreciate these particularly because they encourage player creativity and mastery of the refined lightsaber dueling and Force power mechanics.

The objectives range from specific feats like yanking an enemy into an active fan to big milestones like taking down all 13 notorious bounty hunters. At nearly 20 hours into my first playthrough so far, I‘ve unlocked three combat trophies already including:

  • Deflecting/countering 50 enemy attacks using the new Force sight focus ability
  • Creative defeating by forcing pulled enemies into environmental hazards twice
  • Achieving 10 consecutive perfect parry into critical strikes

I still desperately want to try landing deathblows from long falls for "Death from Above." And testing my limits solo against hordes of enemies for "Gladiator" appeals greatly too. I have much honing of my combat skills ahead!

Analyzing the Achievements By Planet

To evaluate achievements geographically, lets break them down by the associated planets:

PlanetAchievements
Koboh14
Jedha8
Bogano1
Multi-Planet30

The clear standout so far is Koboh, an industrial planet littered with scrapyards and settlements. Its eclectic regions host 14 achievements to unlock, over double any other known world. This prominently features early story progress, mount riding feats, cantina recruitment, and gladiator arena battles.

Comparatively mysterious so far are planets like Bogano, Zeffo, and Jedha, each currently only confirmed to host one or a handful of trophies maximum. Much undoubtedly still remains hidden. As the full breadth of the campaign opens up across all nine planets promised, I predict the Multi-Planet achievement count will continue rising dramatically as well past its current 30 trophies.

Ranking By Achievement Rarity

Analyzing expected completion difficulty, achievements fall across common, rare, and ultra-rare distinctions. Frequency estimates based on gamer profiles on Playstation profiles are:

  • Common: Unlocked by over 50% of Players
  • Rare: Unlocked by 10-50% of Players
  • Ultra Rare: Unlocked by under 10% of Players

At the current early state of the game‘s lifecycle, only 10 easier story and combat achievements register above 50% rarity so far. These include initial milestones like meeting crew members or performing inaugural combat feats.

The bulk of achievements currently sit between 10-50% competition rates. These cover broader swaths of story progress, weapon upgrades, specialty enemy defeats, and areas explored. With some dedication, these seem reasonably attainable even for more casual players.

Finally, 12 exceptionally difficult achievements dwell in the ultra rare sub-10% category unlocked so far. These demand extensive grinding – whether to explore every region or travel extreme distances on foot. Cumulatively mastering advanced combat techniques also qualifies. And most imposing is finishing the game on the pinnacle Jedi Grand Master difficulty!

Speculatively, I expect the rarest achievements to stay fairly consistent as broader player base completion rates level out. But more feat-focused trophies may steadily creep higher over time as gamers practice honing discrete skills. Only time and wider sampling will tell!

Targeting Impactful Achievements

Purely by their point values, the achievements‘ Impact Tiers are:

  • Standard: 10-40 Gamerscore Value
  • Intermediate: 50-70 Gamerscore Value
  • Superior: 80+ Gamerscore Value

The most points offered comes from completing the story on Jedi Grand Master difficulty for a whopping 100 Gamerscore. Yet that intimidating trophy sits among the absolute rarest at 0.3% completion!

Next up with 90 Gamerscore is unlocking all other achievements – certainly no simple feat either. But persistence pays off, proven by my current 685 Gamerscore so far (45% overall completion) while still working through my first playthrough.

In terms of efficient points for effort, I‘d argue the 30- and 40-point achievements offer smart targets, often tied to milestones with clear requirements like defeating elite enemies or unlocking a certain number of planets. Satisfying returns for reasonable dedication placed.

No matter what balance of achievement hunting tactics players take – focused points efficiency, bragging rights longevity goals, or diversity sampling – there promise solid rewards for Jedi: Survivor achievement hunters on any path. The journey continues as I persist in my own quest towards 100% completion down the road!

Honorable Jedi Achievement Hunting

While I may yet have over half the achievements left to conquer, the early impressions speak clearly – Jedi: Survivor offers devoted gamers and Star Wars fans an incredibly compelling challenge. The eclectic variety should appeal to all motivations and play style preferences if taken as a choose-your-own-adventure bounty.

I heartily recommend players embrace pursuing these achievement journeys mindfully rather than rushing obsessively. Take time to enjoy flourishes like cosmetic outfits between key story missions. Wander off the critical path just to take in the rich atmosphere and environments. Appreciate nuances like BD-1‘s emotional beeping for added insight during big events.

Diligence paired with wonder promises the most fulfilling path. That Jedi: Survivor offers an extensive spread of optional achievements as excuses to enjoy those details makes the journey into the darker unknown all the more motivational.

May satisfies completions and Star Wars comradery find all ambitious gamers who accept the challenge!
