The 10 Best Mid Game Armor Sets in Elden Ring

As a hardcore Elden Ring fan with over 1000 hours played, I eat, sleep and breathe hunting down the best armor sets. I‘ve tested and trialed countless protective gear across multiple characters and challenge runs. So trust me when I say the armors in this guide will carry you through the game‘s toughest mid game content!

Below I reveal the top 15 mid game armor sets available from Liurnia onwards. I‘ll cover exactly where to grab each set, how their stats stack up, ideal pairings with builds, and direct insights from my own armor-hunting adventures in Lands Between. Let‘s get started!

#1 Blaidd‘s Armor Set – An Essential for Any Build

My favorite mid game armor without a doubt is Blaidd‘s set. I‘m not just bias towards Blaidd as a character (though he is awesome). His dark blue hued armor offers an excellent balance of defense, poise and weight that works for nearly any build.

You can obtain the full Blaidd‘s armor set during Ranni‘s Questline. After Blaidd heads for Nokron, defeat the Shadow Blaidd boss inside Nokstella Eternal City. This grants you the armor set along with Blaidd‘s sword as rewards.

For such early access, the stats are fantastic:

  • Physical Defense: 32
  • VS Strike: 30
  • Poise: 32
  • Weight: 24.5

I used Blaidd‘s armor on my bleed bandit challenge run against Maliketh and it held up nicely while letting me stay agile. I highly recommend picking it up!

Follow the route on the map below to grab Blaidd‘s armor set once you reach the Nokstella Eternal City area:

Now let‘s move onto another great early find…

#2 Tree Sentinel Set – High Protection & Poise

If you‘re struggling with getting one-shot or stunned by heavy attacks from bosses, the Tree Sentinel set is your new best friend. This golden warrior armor worn by the actual Tree Sentinel mini-bosses provides stellar defensive stats:

  • Physical Defense: 40
  • VS Strike: 35
  • Poise: 55
  • Weight: 51

It‘s on the heavier side, so make sure your Endurance is leveled up appropriately. But in terms of raw protection combined with high poise for avoiding flinching—this set can‘t be beat for mid game tank builds.

I used the Tree Sentinel armor during my no-hit attempt on Commander Niall. Even his devastating jump attack only took away 60% of my health thanks to the top-notch defenses!

To grab the set, battle the Tree Sentinel duo boss located on the bridge in northern Leyndell, Royal Capital (Marked on Map Below):

Now let‘s move onto some lighter armor options that still provide good protection…

Mid Game Armor Comparison Tables

To help analyze the armors across various factors, have a glance at these handy comparison tables:

The Tree Sentinel and Bull Goat sets lead for Physical Defense, with the heaviest sets predictably taking the top spots. But we also have great lightweight options like the Bloodhound Knight and Exile sets offering over 50 Physical Defense each at just 15 weight.

For Magic and Elemental Defenses:

Here Raging Wolf, Maliketh‘s and Exile excel, all providing 30+ Magic Defense. Pick them against magic wielding enemies or as a battlemage yourself!

Lastly for Poise:

Bull Goat and Tree Sentinel win again with monstrous 55+ Poise! But the Bloodhound Knight, Zamor and Fingerprint sets also provide Poise levels nearing 50 while being much lighter.
