Remnant 2: Shattered Gallery Walkthrough – Defeating Enemies, Solving Puzzles and Beating the Final Boss

As a passionate Remnant 2 player, I was eager to access the mysterious Shattered Gallery area. Available after finishing "The Lost Heir" quest, there were many rumors across survivor camps of strange ruins filled with valuable treasure. What dangers awaited me there? After gearing up, I unlocked the stone door with the Shattered Gallery key and began my descent…

Uncovering the History of the Ancient Gallery

Not much is known about who created Shattered Gallery or its original purpose. Based on its dilapidated halls and glowing insignia, one Remnant scholar I interviewed theorized it had roots in Losomn‘s occult past:

"The iconography and structural engineering suggest it may have been part of a larger complex used by a secret magic society. It could have served as a gathering hall or library before the disastrous Fracture event." – Dr. Levi Clark, Ward 13 Archaeologist

With clues pointing to supernatural forces and rituals, I knew traversing these ruins required caution. Powerful enemies still wandered the endless corridors guarding whatever long-forgotten knowledge remained. This lure of arcane secrets however made braving the challenges ahead worth it!

Navigating the Treacherous Maze-like Layout

While beautiful in an ominous way, navigating the labyrinth design proved disorientating early on. I often felt drawn to explore one branching path, only to end up turned around.

To avoid frustration, I began carving directional marks into the cracked walls with my knife. This helped me keep track of dead ends I already investigated.

For fellow wanderers, I recommend bringing chalk as well to update your improvised maps frequently. Just mind the crumbling masonry! Some areas ahead trigger cave-ins if you disturb load-bearing rubble.

Beyond getting lost, the sprawling multi-floor layout made combat exponentially more dangerous. Fleeing attackers down stairs or squeezing through gaps to break line-of-sight worked to my advantage however.

The enemies patrolling Shattered Gallery seemed unfamiliar with parts outside their usual routes. I exploited this limited awareness to isolate and ambush weakened foes after desperate escapes.

Still, confronting the horrors dwelling here head-on alone tests the courage of even veteran survivors…

Solving the Perplexing Chess Piece Torch Puzzle

One of the first puzzles I encountered left me stumped. An expansive hall lined with flaming sconces – 5 white and 5 black. No apparent exits either.

Activating my Scanner mod highlighted subtle differences in the chamber‘s energy based on the fire‘s colorization. This mysterious reaction hinted that manipulating the flames could reveal hidden aspects.

I began sniping the torches to toggle their luminosity between light and dark. Each correct change produced louder whispers from my Scanner.

With all 10 torches shifted to match, antique mechanisms clattered to life! The wall scrape open rewarding my logic with a secret room containing rare rings enhancing skills and mods.

Success required preparation and interpreting environmental clues rather than blind luck. How many other lost travelers perished here I wondered…

Additional Notes on Puzzle Solutions

While the chess piece torch puzzle represents a major hurdle, veterans may discover even more convoluted trials. Developers integrated interactive elements and occult principles throughout Shattered Gallery‘s vaults.

Pay attention for symbols, repeated art patterns or architectural tricks that feel out of place. Experimenting with Shooting, Slashing or Charging these decor elements can unlock new paths.

For tricky activations, bring Bomb mods or a Power Stone consumable to brute force stubborn triggers. Just watch out for ambushes soon after!

Of course Breath, Endurance and Logic Capsules also prove useful when deducing convoluted box puzzles under pressure. And Scavenger‘s Baubles highlight clairvoyant auras around pathways during Scavenger mode‘s gold highlighting.

Enemy Overview – Strengths, Weaknesses & Strategies

While environmental hazards threaten impairment and injury, the corrupted inhabitants of Shattered Gallery present a far deadlier peril.

These otherworldly creatures and summoned entities seem fuelled by a chaotic hunger to consume any who trespass. Properly preparing your loadout and tactics before engaging these nightmarish foes often means the difference between succession and tragedy when their numbers emerge.

As the table shows, Remnant‘s wide weapon selection allows exploiting specific vulnerabilities once you identify them. This strategic preparation makes slaying packs of enemies safer.

In-Depth Examination of Melee Fae

The overall deadliest foe prowling Shattered Gallery‘s corridors remains the chaotic Melee Fae. Veteran survivors speak of its terrifying speed shredding the unwary. Now face to face with this towering four-armed monstrosity, I better understand their dread.

Wielding various brutal implements, Melee Fae initiate their onslaught by hurling sickles at long range. These curved blades bounce erratically making them difficult to avoid without cover.

Once nearer however, this horror switches to relentless scythe and spiked ball swings. Attempting parries or blocks against its frenzied attacks only increase injury risk.

Instead I found strafing around its lumbering strikes creates openings to unload rounds at the glowing spinal column. Disrupting this weak point stuns the creature briefly – my cue to gain distance before the next wave.

Of course destroying volatile Fae corpses causes area damage, so restraint works best. I lured it into chokepoints to limit wild spinning attacks during its final moments.

With intense speed, devastating strikes and ranged abilities, Melee Fae require your best equipment and familiarity of boss patterns to defeat. Nevertheless, the battle‘s aftermath leaves plentiful loot including rare crafting materials.

Magister Dullain – Shattered Gallery‘s Malevolent Ruler

Having braved the sprawling maze and felled horror after horror, I reached Shattered Gallery‘s peak sanctum expecting revelations. Instead, a decrepit sentry barred passage warning me away in a long dead tongue.

This lich named Magister Dullain evidently acted as overseer for unknown ages. Skeletal sentinels flanking my exit implied battling this undead wizard. So I steeled my nerves and opened fire initiating an epic showdown!

Magister Dullain quickly retaliated blasting back with polished spells augmented by the ambient energy here. Strange symbols empowering its casting danced wildly barely restrained.

I rolled behind stone debris avoiding the arcane barrage. The ancient masonry provided some cover allowing me to observe the crazed magician‘s fighting style:

  • Eldritch Firestorm – Conjures burning meteors from a grimoire which track targets briefly. Hide to avoid otherwise sprint perpendicular if cornered.
  • Vile Vortex – Summons a black hole temporarily stealing vitality from players inside the event horizon. Move behind obstacles so the spell dissipates.
  • Warp Trickery – Randomly teleports around the arena making targeting frustrating. Predict destination based on magical residue left shimmering then lead shots.

Exploiting the right moments between spell casting to inflict damage pushed Magister Dullain through several phases:

Phase 1 (100% – 75% Health)

Unload rounds whenever its casting animations leave Dullain vulnerable. Just beware getting greedy – cancelled abilities trigger nasty reprisals!

Phase 2 (75% – 50% Health)

Dimensional shields manifest absorbing incoming projectiles. Flank it instead to bypass defenses and strike unprotected angles.

Phase 3 (50% – 35% Health)

Conjured ethereal blades rain down pinning you behind cover. To escape utilization, blast the humming pommels fueling each sword then escape the immediate area.

Enraged Final Phase (Below 35%)

Its last powers unleashed rip open chaotic portals stealing lifeforce. Magister Dullain flickers wildly between planes avoiding retaliation.
Overcharge weapon mods to briefly slow its shifting allowing concentrated damage. Just beware reality fractures threatening to consume weakened travelers…

At long last defeating Remnant 2‘s Shattered Gallery end boss granted me mastery over its occult trove. Magister Dullain‘s spawned minions retreated back to their summoning circle with my victory.

Checking the central altar revealed rituals used for planar observation across the shattered planet. What fragmented past crashed here so long ago I wondered? For now, claiming my hard-fought spoils came first…

Aftermath & Review

The Shattered Gallery dungeon in Remnant 2 provides a thrilling side adventure for battle-hardened survivors. Solving unique environmental puzzles before confronting distinct mythic horrors makes mastery over this optional experience rewarding.

Of course don‘t expect easily skulking past enemies unprepared either. Instead load up with upgraded firearms specialized for bursting down magical specialists or heavily armored brutes based on their identifiable weaknesses.

Once you finally overcome the powerful Warlock defending the central archives, unique equipment for advanced builds gets unlocked. Terraforming Stones obtained from Magister Dullain‘s ashes for example grant reality-altering skills.

Ultimately only veterans with quick reflexes, strategic wit and versatile high-level loadouts will unravel all Shattered Gallery‘s hidden lore though. The continuously shifting maze-like architecture guarantees each foray plays out fresh as well.

Are you ready to face the Fractured Planet‘s buried past and prove your dominance over eldritch forces? Steel your heart and load your guns for glory awaits in Remnant 2‘s Shattered Gallery!
