My Comprehensive Guide to Unlocking Crisis Core Reunion‘s "Good Match for Aerith" Trophy

Gaming console and controller on a TV stand

As a hardcore fan who grew up with Crisis Core on PSP, I‘ve been ecstatic to dive back into the Reunion remaster. The heartfelt relationship between Zack Fair and Aerith Gainsborough remains one of my favorite gaming love stories ever. Few moments in Crisis Core tug at the ol‘ heartstrings more than Zack‘s first date in Sector 8 or his emotional last stand protecting Aerith.

So naturally I had to unlock the "Good Match for Aerith" trophy on my first playthrough! It perfectly encapsulates Zack and Aerith‘s sweet chemistry.

Trust me though, even veteran fans can struggle to get this on their own. That‘s why I‘ve put together this super-detailed trophy guide after already mastering it myself. I‘ll cover foolproof tips to max out your affection level through shop conversations, mini-games, and more!

Let‘s dive in!

Why Zack and Aerith‘s Bond Matters

Before jumping to strategies, I want to briefly gush about why this iconic relationship makes the "Good Match for Aerith" trophy particularly special.

Despite their contrasting personalities, Zack‘s outgoing optimism complements Aerith‘s warm gentleness so beautifully. Throughout Crisis Core, subtle affections grow between stolen glances and playful jokes. Their first date over fireworks remains a seminal gaming moment for me. I still remember weeping as Zack writhed towards Aerith in his final seconds, promising his return.

Sigh… Excuse the heavy nostalgia already! But this history gives me all the motivation I need to ace their affection levels in-game.

Now then, let‘s get to trophy-hunting!

Overview: Requirements & Tips

Here are the key things to know:

  • You‘ll need 75 affection points with Aerith
  • This prompt‘s Bruno to compliment your "compatibility", unlocking the trophy
  • Most points come from Chapter 4 conversations and activities

My pro-tips:

  • Utilize Chapter 4 fully before moving forward
  • Save often in case you lose progress
  • Carefully track your affection points (see my table below!)

Let‘s get that Trophy!

Gaining Affection Points Through Chapter 4 Dialogue

Starting in Chapter 4, you‘ll gain affection when Aerith reacts positively to Zack‘s words or actions. But don‘t worry about tracking individual instances. Just complete this checklist to easily get 30 points:

ConversationAffection Points
Talk to Accessory Shop Owner+10
Talk to Item Shop Owner+10
Talk to Shopping Paradise Owner+10
Total+30

Remember to specifically ask all 3 NPCs about Bruno‘s whereabouts. Feel free to shop normally too, but purchasing goods isn‘t required here.

Aerith will notice Zack‘s compassion towards Bruno when conversing with them. That indirectly shows your sweet side!

With 30 down in about 5 minutes, you‘re already halfway to the trophy!

Locating Bruno Around the Slums (+20 Points)

After chatting up the shop owners, continue the search for our little thief Bruno around the area. Completing these steps nets another 20 points:

InteractionAffection Points
Wait for Girl in Blue (10 times)+10
Trade with Potion Boy (5 times)+10
Total+20

For the girl, keep selecting "Wait a Little Longer" until she returns with info. Be patient!

Then with the Potion Boy, exchange multiple goods through the trade menu. Buy or sell – anything counts!

Stick with it and that‘s 50 points in your back pocket. Not bad so far, just one more chunk to go!

Purchasing Medicine & Perfect Mini-Games (+25 Points)

Nearly complete! Two final activities will help you ace that trophy:

Buying Medicine for Bruno

After encountering the Girl in Blue again, a scene plays where Bruno asks Zack for medicine money. Two dialogue options appear:

  • I‘ll buy the medicine (+10 Points)
  • Forget it

Help ol‘ Bruno out! Select the first choice for +10 points. Zack‘s generosity impresses his future waifu.

Nailing Item Shop Mini-Games

Last stop is the Shopping Paradise and its cutesy challenge gauntlet. Play these mini-games flawlessly using my expert tips for the last affection boosts:

Make Perfect Perfume

  • Play this brain teaser game twice for +10 points
  • Mix the prompted ingredients perfectly both times
  • Fail and you lose progress!

Materia Collection Challenge

  • Gather all 20 materia under 14 seconds for +5 points
  • No penalties for messing up! Just retry until success

Check my map below showing all materia locations:

With perfect mini-game scores, you should now have 75+ affection points! Only one step remains…
