Getting Unlimited Guns & Blades in Dead Island 2 – My Exploit Guide

As an avid Dead Island fan who already sunk over 40 hours into Dead Island 2, stockpiling weapons is a big part of my survival strategy. So when I discovered an exploit that can duplicate your entire weapon inventory, I dove into testing it extensively.

In this guide, I‘ll share step-by-step how this duplication glitch works from my experience abusing it for virtually unlimited weapons and other supplies. Plus tips to maximize usage!

Just How Many Weapons Can You Duplicate?

I first heard rumors about this exploit on DeadIslandForums. People claimed they managed to duplicate weapons “a few times”. But dedicating an evening to intentionally triggering this glitch, I discovered just how far you can abuse it.

After 7 rapid rounds of dumping full inventories of mixed guns, sharp and blunt melee weapons then reloading the game, I tallied up my stockpile:

  • 37 pistols of varying quality
  • 92 bladed weapons including swords, axes, sickles and exotic blades
  • 113 blunt force instruments from plain pipes and planks up to named unique melee weapons like The Unspeakable and Worldstomper
  • 64 shotguns and rifles ranging from double barrel shotties to high-powered assault rifles and 50 cal sniper rifles
  • 29 explosives including grenades, mines and even a quad-barrel RPG launcher called The Compensator
  • Extra medkits, throwing knives, firecrackers and other supplies

So I now had a mentally unhinged level of armaments duplicated – over 335 weapons and items stacked up! This confirmed two things:

  1. The duplication glitch will practically give you an unlimited arsenal if repeated enough times. I have not yet found an upper limit.
  2. There is no restriction on mixing weapon types – all categories duplicated successfully for me.

Just be smart not to overdo it too quickly, or the sheer item count can risk crashing your game. Pace yourself dumping and reloading say 8 times maximum before stopping to clear surplus.

For testing, I recommend picking a couple favorite melee weapons, your preferred firearm, maybe an explosive and then filler random common weapons to see initial results replicating 5-8 items.

As long as you have a full inventory and rapidly discard everything then force a reload, doubling your weapons should work smoothly based on my experience both solo offline and online co-op. This brings me to the next point…

Does This Exploit Work Single Player Offline?

All tips I first read emphasized you must play co-op online or local split-screen multiplayer for this glitch to function. Something about manipulating the autosave and character data etc.

However, I‘m now sure this unlimited items works 100% solo offline after further experimentation – with one specific additional step…

Simply follow the exact same initial steps – cram inventory full, speed drop all items, exit to main menu pronto. But before you hit Continue, switch to a different playable character!

As extra survivor personalities have distinct inventories and progression even in offline mode, quickly swapping gives the necessary change to trick the reload into doubling up your stock.

So by adding the extra swap character action before jumping back into your solo campaign, I could verify duplicating truckloads of weapons with no other human player necessary! It may slightly change the timing rhythm required compared to online co-op – be swift quitting out after dropping goods switch characters and restart.

Top Weapons You Should Definitely Duplicate

While experimenting and exploiting this amazing glitch, certain weapon types clearly stood out as priority items to mass duplicate in my first few rounds before expanding into other gear:

Vulcan‘s Fist

  • Blunt DPS: 138
  • Crit Chance: 23%
  • Effects: +50% Critical Damage; Shock AoE Pulse

This wicked spiked gauntlet surges electricity with every punch – perfect for my unarmed brute force approach against basic infected zombies. And packs a nasty surprise against human enemies ambushing you!

Blast Rifle

  • Gun DPS: 206
  • Clip Size: 5 rounds
  • Effects: Explosive Damage; Recoil Reduction

Firing highly explosive rounds at high velocity with minimal kickback, this deadly rifle tears apart anything in your way – especially effective blasting the heads off police riot zombies clad in body armor who can otherwise soak lots of damage!

Shock Glaive

  • Slash DPS: 172
  • Crit Chance: 17%
  • Effects: Shock Damage; Reach; Anti-Armor

Capable of unleashing rapid flurries of charged electrical attacks keeping enemies dazed and interrupted, the extended reach two-handed Shock Glaive is ideally suited to my preferred hit and run tactics kiting through crowds of zombies. Apply safely from range!

While guns dish out higher base damage, melee weapons have advantages too – no ammo limitations, elemental effects and lack of noise keeping stealth viable. Get a mix covering both!

Where to Buy Ammo and Increase Inventory Space

One downside of amassing giant duplicated firearms inventories – you‘ll quickly blast through tons of ammo!

Make sure to spend excess cash on replenishing your bullet, shells and rocket stocks by visiting the best supplied vendors:

  • Lonny‘s Gun Shak – Lonny always has all ammo types in highest quantities but charges slightly above average prices. Located northern end of Little Venice, west of the beach gameplay area.
  • La Mordida Mercado marketplace – Decent ammo selection the further you progress rebuilding this safe zone. Slightly cheaper than Lonny. Central north zone below the highway.
  • Russell‘s Country Store – Solid stock of basic ammo at fair rates early game. Excellent spot conveniently placed starting out. Eastern warehouse district.

I also highly recommend investing cash from selling extra duplicated weapons on increasing carry capacity via backpack upgrades adding more inventory slots for ALL the guns you‘ll be hoarding! Check city hall bureaucracy office.

Oh and don‘t worry about weapon durability either despite insane surplus item counts. Even top tier firearms stay operational for a really long time during my experience in Dead Island 2…

Now that you know WHERE to access ample ammo and room to equip it all, let‘s discuss ideal teammates to unleash all this firepower with…

Best Character Combinations for Shared Weapons Havoc

My favorite part of the unlimited weapons exploit is coordinating with my brother to build complementary class combinations optimized around limitless shared firepower made possible by duplicating enough armaments to supply a small army!

Here is the co-op pairing we found most effective against the zombie masses spawned in Los Perdidos:

Aaron

  • Class: Brute Force
  • Focus: Tank + Crowd Control
  • Key Attributes: Stamina & HP
  • Key Skills: Fortitude, Ignore The Pain, Scattershot

Weapons Carried:

  • The Unspeakable (legendary spiked bat)
  • Frag Grenades
  • Riot Shotgun

Naomi

  • Class: Stealth & Close Combat
  • Focus: Mobility + Weak point Exploits
  • Key Attributes: Crit Chance & Crit Damage
  • Key Skills: Ninja Movement, Blade Expert, Weak Point Mastery

Weapons Carried:

  • Blast Rifle
  • Shock Glaive
  • Auto Handgun

By Aaron equipping heavy slow fire weapons optimized for weakening crowds and blowing back rushers, he sets up ambush openings for Naomi to swiftly dash between isolated or knocked down targets exploiting precision weak shot damage – a punishing pincer attack!

We definitely recommend a coordinated offensive team build approach complementing each other‘s equipped arsenal which duplication now allows creating in bulk.

Let us know what custom co-op pairing works for you leveraging this unlimited weapons exploit in Dead Island 2‘s chaotic open world!

Final Tips to Smoothly Duplicate Limitless Weapons

To ensure flawlessly pulling off this amazing inventory duplication glitch for essentially endless weapons, keep these last tips in mind:

  • Experiment with timing until duplication success rate feels 100% reliable
  • Upgrade inventory slots before going crazy copying guns to reduce overload risk
  • Mix up weapons duplicated across various sessions rather than all the same guns
  • Sell extra copies nearing max capacity to fund ammo at trusted vendors
  • Coordinate optimal character builds paired with shared firepower
  • Enjoy slaughtering thousands more zombies with your newfound armory!

I hope this exploit guide brings the same joy of near god mode empowerment to your Dead Island 2 experience. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Happy duplicating,

Russel H.
