Final Fantasy 16: The 10 Best Accessories for Your Build

Final Fantasy 16 accessories

With over 70 hours logged in Final Fantasy 16, I‘ve tested my fair share of accessories to find the best ones to complement different builds and playstyles.

Accessories are key to getting the most out of Clive and tweaking his stats and abilities to your liking. With the right accessories equipped, you can boost damage, improve defense, reduce ability cooldowns, and more.

However, Clive can only equip 3 accessories at a time, so choosing the right ones is important.

In this guide, I‘ll cover the 10 best accessories in FF16 and what they do, along with tips on how to unlock them.

1. Adamanite Gauntlets

Adamanite Gauntlets

Effect: Increases maximum HP by 500.

How to Get: Found in an orb chest in the Footfalls in Ash main quest.

If you find yourself struggling with low health and getting one-shotted in battles, the Adamanite Gauntlets should be your first accessory slot.

The massive 500 HP boost it provides allows you to survive longer against tough enemies and gives more of a buffer before needing to heal. This is useful for any build.

2. Genji Gloves

Genji Gloves

Effect: Increases damage by 5%.

How to Get: Purchase for 2365 renown points from Patron Whisper‘s Shop.

For increasing raw damage output, the Genji Gloves are your best bet. A flat 5% damage increase applies to all attacks, so they‘re useful for any DPS-focused build.

You‘ll need to grind side quests and hunts to rack up renown points. But after getting the gloves, enemies will start dropping much quicker.

3. Ring of the Demolitionist

Ring of the Demolitionist

Effect: Increases magic burst damage by 15%.

How to Get: Found in a flying blue orb chest in the Across the Narrow main quest.

Magic builds rely heavily on bursting down enemies quickly with high damage spells.

That‘s where the Ring of the Demolitionist comes in handy. It significantly amplifies your magic burst damage, allowing you to shred through enemies using fewer spell casts.

If you love slinging spells in FF16, this ring is a must-have accessory.

4. Talisman of Priming

Talisman of Priming

Effect: Increases Lionheart Tonic duration by 30 seconds.

How to Get: Purchase for 1360 renown points from Patron Whisper‘s Shop.

The Lionheart Tonic is an item that fills Clive‘s Limit Break gauge, allowing him to enter his extremely powerful Limit Break state.

With the Talisman of Priming equipped, the tonic‘s effect lasts 30 additional seconds—giving you more time to build up Clive‘s limit gauge and unleash devastating attacks.

If you love using Limit Breaks, this accessory complements that playstyle nicely.

5. Cleric‘s Medallion +1

Cleric's Medallion

Effect: Increases healing potion potency by 40%.

How to Get: Purchase for 205 renown points from Patron Whisper‘s Shop.

Rather than relying solely on healing spells in battle, the Cleric‘s Medallion allows your healing potions to restore a much larger chunk of HP.

Paired with the Adamanite Gauntlets HP boost, you can create a formidable tank build capable of withstanding hits while constantly healing back up.

It also gives more flexibility if your magic stats are lower.

6. Berserker Ring

Berserker Ring

Effect: Slightly increases attack after each precise dodge.

How to Get: Purchase for 85 renown points from Patron Whisper‘s Shop.

While the Berserker Ring may not seem amazing on paper, skilled players can get great mileage from it.

After each properly-timed dodge, it temporarily buffs your attack. So by dodging enemy blows then quickly striking back, you can accumulate some serious damage bonuses.

This makes it a nice accessory for aggressive builds that stay on the offense. But it requires quick reflexes to capitalize on.

7. The Breath of Fire – Flames of Rebirth

The Breath of Fire accessory

Effect: Reduces the Flames of Rebirth ability‘s cooldown by 12 seconds.

How to Get: Dropped by the boss in The Crystals‘ Curse main quest.

The Breath of Fire is a super useful accessory for boosting one of Clive‘s best healing abilities. Flames of Rebirth restores HP and burns nearby enemies while providing temporary damage immunity.

By shaving 12 whole seconds off its cooldown, you can use Flames of Rebirth much more frequently in battle.

If you lean on that ability a lot, this accessory is a natural fit.

8. Channeler‘s Whispers

Channeler's Whispers

Effect: Automatically charges magic spells until cast.

How to Get: Purchase from Charon‘s Toll Shop.

Slinging spells rapidly is key to maximizing DPS as a magic user. But having to manually charge each spell slows down your casting speed significantly.

That‘s where Channeler‘s Whispers comes in clutch. It charges your spells automatically in the background, allowing you to queue them up much quicker.

You‘ll need to unlock the Charged Magic ability first to take advantage of this accessory. But then it‘s a game-changer for mage builds.

9. On Fortune and Heavens

On Fortune and Heavens

Effect: Increases XP gain by 15%.

How to Get: Purchase from Charon‘s Toll Shop.

If your goal is to grind XP and level up Clive quickly, this accessory is fantastic. The 15% XP boost applies to all sources of experience points.

Combined with the best XP farming locations in the game, you can skyrocket Clive‘s level and access more abilities faster.

It‘s perfect for players who prefer over-leveling before progressing the story.

10. Dire Wolf Jess

Dire Wolf Jess

Effect: Increases combo damage by 5%.

How to Get: Purchase for 295 renown points from Patron Whisperer‘s Shop.

While subtle, the Dire Wolf Jess offers a nice damage boost if you can chain together long attack combos consistently.

The 5% combo damage increase applies after each hit, so landing 10, 20, or even 30+ hit combos stacks up the bonus substantially.

Skilled players who can keep combo chains going will get the most value from this accessory.

Closing Thoughts

Hopefully this list gives you some ideas on the best accessories to pair with your playstyle and build in FF16.

Keep an eye out for these while progressing through the game. And don‘t hesitate to mix and match to fine-tune Clive to your liking.

The right accessories can take your damage, defense and abilities to the next level. So get out there and start gearing up!

Let me know in the comments if you have any other favorite FF16 accessories that I missed! I‘m always willing to give new ones a test run.
