Decrypting the Secrets of Grid 086: A Tactical Analysis

As an elite Raven mercenary and Armored Core enthusiast, I was thrilled to infiltrate the mysterious Grid 086 complex during the latest mission in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. This sprawling, subsurface industrial base concealed within the icy Belius tundras guards intriguing secrets – including rare prototype weapons and combat data that could give us an edge.

The Prize: Encrypted Combat Logs

Combat logs containing performance data and design specifications for state-of-the-art mechs and weaponry are invaluable prizes. Salvaging these from Grid 086‘s guarded servers is our key objective.

The logs have varying rarity levels:

  • Bronze: Basic mass-production model data
  • Silver: Advanced/limited edition gear
  • Gold: Cutting-edge prototypes and hero mech data

High-rarity logs are extremely scarce – finding them requires exploration into Grid 086‘s most secure and isolated areas.

As a hardcore mech-builder and strategist, this kind of insider data lets me optimize my AC with rare, high-powered gear unavailable anywhere else. The capabilities boost from these classified parts is an unmatched advantage out in the field. Now let‘s break down the obstacles standing between us and those glorious combat logs!

Perimeter Defenses: Snow Valley Sentry Guns

I launched my custom bipedal AC Shredder from a stratofortress dropship, landing in a broad snow valley overlooked by sheer frozen mountain peaks. As I stomped through drifts of powder, proximity alarms blared and squadrons of spindly MT robots emerged from camouflaged bunkers with heavy turret support.

Enemy Forces:

MT-K21 "Klinker" bots (x14)
- Light armor, medium firepower
- Armed with 25mm autocannons

X9-01ig automated turrets (x8)
- Stationary 95mm high velocity cannons with anti-air and anti-armor rounds
- Protected by retractable armored shell when not firing

I returned fire with Shredder‘s back-mounted missile battery while bounding between cover positions, evading streams of 25mm slugs. The exposed turrets posed a greater threat, firing targeted bursts of 95mm shells. But a few of my micro-missiles triggered their premature re-arming sequence. I boosted through the openings and severed their ammo feeds with rapid laser blasts before they could retract their shells.

With their base defenses neutralized, I advanced deeper into the snow valley searching for external facility access points.

Chief Gatekeeper: Invincible-Class Defense Mech

Partway down the valley I encountered blast doors set into the mountainside – my infiltration route. As I prepared breaching charges, an alert claxon sounded across the tundra. A hulking yellow quadruped mech crashed down from a launch silo, swiveling its torso to acquire me in its sights. The designation Invincible-Class was stenciled across its armor plating.

Designation: Invincible-Class Defense Mech

Armament:
- MK211 "Sledgehammer" 220mm cannons (x2)
- FENRIS-X cruise missile battery (12 salvos)
- KE-1195 armor plates (1m thickness)

Threat Level: High

Invincible unleashed a blistering cascade of cannon fire and missiles. Shredder jetted over the bombardment, returning fire with a volley of lock-on SAMs while drawing my high-frequency plasma blade. The yellow mech‘s thick armor deflected my blade‘s initial strikes, allowing it to retaliate with its missiles and a nasty direct cannon blast.

Armor Rating Comparison:

- Shredder: A-Grade Reactive Steel (0.5m thickness)
- Invincible: KE-1195 Ceramic Composite (1m thickness)

Damage Report:
- Armor Integrity: 73%

I had underestimated this beast! Circling around while it recalibrated weapon systems, I boost-dashed onto its back hull, carved a gap in the armor lattice, and discharged my core energy through Shredder‘s blade – reducing Invincible‘s internals to molten slag. This bipedal bullfighter emerged triumphant! Now to claimed my prize…

Securing the Loot: underground Combat Logs

After blasting my way through exterior blast doors with Shredder‘s shoulder charges, I descended into the bowels of Grid 086 toward Mission Control Sec. 6A – the facility‘s data core. This puzzle-like maze of smelters, transit tunnels and gantries was patrolled by MT search parties, snipers, and deadly laser cutters.

I managed to isolate and destroy the operators of 8 bronze-rated assault bots, 3 silver-rated snipers, and the ace golden mech defending the core server, unlocking a motherlode of encrypted data!

Operation Loot Tracker:

BRONZE:
- MT-K21 x 6 (destroyed)
- X19 "Arachnid" mechs x 2 (destroyed)

SILVER
- XR-019 Infiltrator bots x 3 (destroyed)

GOLD
- "Slayer" Hero Mech x 1 (destroyed)

This being my first op into Grid 086, I still have much to discover in terms of rare alliance models and prototype tech guarded deeper inside. But extracting this batch of 10 log samples already enhances Shredder‘s tech capabilities against the scales in combat to come.

Core Upgrades Unlocked

With the mirror lens barrier finally disabled by Pepper‘s reckless action, a conduit to the Core was open. Ansem wasted no time, crossing the threshold of the portal with machine and wizard close behind. Now was the time to set right the imbalance afflicting their world – and Nashu was eager to witness the progenitor of such an extraordinary creation.

Upon arriving however, what greeted them was not the thriving heart of life they expected, but a blistering dark cavern lined with the glowing veins of Mako energy. The stream they followed here was but one of many that wormed their way through the shadows.

"This cannot be…" Ansem breathed, though denial did not change what lay before him.

"The Core…" Bogard spoke in hushed astonishment. "It‘s become the Black Core!"

While Grid 086 still holds more challenges waiting in its icy depths, this initial infiltration op was a success. My Raven extracted a diverse array of combat data logs that will significantly upgrade offensive and defensive capacities for future missions. I can‘t wait to integrate these classified tech samples into new custom AC builds! There are surely more concealed facilities like Grid 086 hiding revolutionary mech-tech and deadly weapons across Belius. But with battle data from these log finds, Shredder will have the edge to defeat their defenses and uncover those valuable secrets. Time to plan our next sortie over some crab soup and tuning holos!
