Based on factors like raw damage, stagger infliction, crowd control, combat flow, and synergy, these are the signature abilities around which I built Clive‘s loadout.

Phoenix – Rising Flames: Manifests fiery wings that slam opponents and launch them skyward. This hard-hitting crowd control tool deals 3 attack and 2 stagger damage, while sending foes helplessly aloft for extended combo chains. It costs no AP, with 500 needed to upgrade for a multi-hit wing salvo. At 1000 master points, Rising Flames becomes equippable across all eikons.

I select Rising Flames above all for its immense flexibility. Besides solid baseline offensive ability, launching airborne enemies opens huge combo potential. Upgrading boosts single target damage substantially through extra hits. Since it‘s ultimately masterable, Rising Flames can be used alongside any other eikon if desired.

Garuda – Cyclone: Summons a powerful vortex that inhales enemies before detonating for heavy wind damage. This costs 2500 AP with 3 attack and 4 stagger rating, hitting targets equal to Clive‘s level x10.

Cyclone gives Clive unmatched crowd control strength. Gathering scattered enemies tightly together enables devastating multi-target chains. It inflicts excellent damage too – while rather AP costly, it‘s offset by compressing hordes of foes in Cyclone‘s blast radius. Once mastered, Cyclone becomes the ultimate setup tool regardless of active eikon.

Ramuh – Lightning Rod: Produces an electrified orb attached to Clive‘s arm. It shocks enemies on contact while chaining them together. With 120 base AP for 2 attack and 3 stagger, upgrading boosts chaining range and linked enemy damage at 525 points.

The Lightning Rod defines area control and debilitates groups extremely well. While chained together, struck foes continue taking damage as they share electricity. This saps strength rapidly. Upgrading improves its disruption capabilities greatly. Lightning Rod also synergizes amazingly with other electric attacks like Judgment Bolt.

Shiva – Hoarfrost: Hurls icy spears at single opponents for heavy piercing damage. Each spear costs 200 AP and boasts 4 attack alongside 5 stagger rating. At 1000 mastery points, Hoarfrost becomes usable by all eikons.

With outrageous single target damage throughput, I choose Hoarfrost as Clive‘s trump card against solo threats. Landing five spears also inflicts 30% defense reduction while heavily building up stagger gauges. Garuda – Aerial Onslaught: Imbues Clive‘s spear with cyclonic energy, permitting even deadlier jump attacks. Costing 250 AP and lasting 60 seconds with a 25 second cooldown, upgrading improves the jump attack modifier by 0.8x.

Aerial Onslaught synergizes perfectly with Rising Flames by capitalizing fully when enemies get launched skyward. Bringing the pain from above with empowered jumps quickly crushes airborne targets. It also lets Clive sustain damage more easily against towering foes.

With extremely steep material costs, Genji Gloves offer an unparalleled damage multiplier that affects all of Clive‘s physical strikes. Against endgame enemies with 500,000 HP, base Clive may deal ~5000 DPS. Genji Gloves push this to ~6000, effectively multiplying effective health pools by 0.83x!

Hypervelocity Pendant (mid): Further reduces the accelerated perception time while dodging attacks for easier evasion windows.

By giving more reaction time, the Hypervelocity Pendant enables activating defense buffs or counterattacking after an evasion. Fully upgrading it results in a 4.28x slowdown multiplier compared to 3.33x normally during Clive‘s burst evasion. This gives far better action queueing.
