However, the nice thing about that kind of live tree is that the dirt holds water anyway, so I wouldn&#039;t think you would need to water it nearly as often. This is very cool!  I wonder if I could rig something like this to water a tree with a root ball.  

I want to do a live tree that we can plant in the yard next year.  I might just have to subsitute a large rubbermaid container for the tree stand.
