Books I Read in 2005

One of the greatest revelations of my adult life has been that I don’t have to finish every book that I start reading. When I was in school this wasn’t really an option without negative fallout. Even after graduation I found myself trudging through books that I had started but realized a few chapters in that I didn’t really enjoy the book. It was so helpful when I realized that just becuase I had started a book, I didn’t have to read it entirely.

If I had paid money for a book instead of getting it from a library or from a friend, I felt even more compelled to finish it so I could “get my money’s worth.” You’re probably thinking what I eventually thought, If I’m getting my money’s worth of somehting that don’t really enjoy is it really worth the money? No, it wasn’t. In fact, I probably would have been willing to pay to get the time back that I spent with this.

My discovery of Amazon.com, was another great revelation because now I could read reviews of books before I bought them. This helped me to make better decisions about the books I bought.

Having said all that, I thought that it might be nice to list the books that I read in 2005. If you would like me to post my comments about any of these books, or maybe even a series of postings, please let me know.

    I love Andrew Murray!
His stuff has impacted me in such a deep way, I don’t think I even understand it. I have read most of his books and have been so encouraged by his personal walk with Jesus. He was something special.

I am a musician and AM has inspired many of my songs. I would be honored if you would check out my music on my site. All my music is free for download. Anyway, I just thought that I’d share.

    Thanks,
    -Sean
