Perfectionism and Success
I read a good quote this week that I’ve been meditating on:
Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make yourself a happier and more productive person.
— Dr. David M. Burns
I’ll confess that I’m a perfectionist. I spend way too much time trying to get everything just right. I could probably ramble on for 5 or 6 paragraphs about how I plan to apply this, but for now, success is to just get the quote posted for you to contemplate as well.
Success feels good!
I really like this quote. I am also a recovering perfectionist, thanks to GTD. Appreciate your sharing this…
